Jesus envisioned a church family in which every member played his or her part and here at Christ Church the volunteers are key to the growth of the church, engaging in “the ministry of the pew” by teaching the gospel to each other in informal and formal settings, and enabling our programmes to operate effectively.

Our volunteers help in a wide range of activities including:

  • ~ running our children’s and youth ministries;
  • – meeting up to study the Bible in 1:1s and small groups
  • – praying for each other and for the life of the church
  • ~ leading us in our congregational singing
  • ~ providing and serving refreshments to all who come;
  • ~ helping out in the church office;
  • ~ providing pastoral support;
  • ~ setting out chairs and tables for services and events;
  • ~ making food for people;
  • ~ serving coffees in our cafe;

The list goes on!

What we have noticed is that when people get involved and serve they feel a greater sense of belonging and smile a lot!

If you’d like to learn how you can play your part and belong here, please see a member of staff on a Sunday, speak to your small group leader, or contact James in the church office.
