We believe that God our Creator sent His Son Jesus Christ 2000 years ago so that we could become His children, follow Him today, and be confident of eternal life. Jesus lived, died, and rose again in order to inaugurate his Kingdom by forgiving our sins and calling us, the Church, to be his people, redeeming the world, transforming our lives by His Spirit, and giving us and all creation an eternal hope through faith in Christ.
As an orthodox evangelical Anglican church we affirm wholeheartedly the faith as it is expressed in the Bible, the Creeds of the Church, and the prayers and services of the Church of England.
We want to express God’s love for the world in the way that we live and relate to others, and we find the Bible, carefully interpreted, a trustworthy guide in discovering God and His will for our lives and our community. Faith for us means a transforming and trusting relationship with God through Jesus Christ in the power of God’s Spirit.
Our Core Values
These values find expression in our Vision Verse for this year, “Faith comes by hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ” (Romans 10:17)
We are part of the Church of England and follow the evangelical stream within that tradition, emphasising evangelism, Scripture, the atoning death of Christ for us, and a call to personal devotion. We are a member of the Evangelical Alliance and subscribe to their Basis of Faith.
