Christ Church sees itself as part of the worldwide church of God. We have links with, and support in different ways, many missionary organisations, two of which are listed below.
Compassion International – releasing children from poverty in Jesus’ name. This amazing charity now has nearly 1.2M children being sponsored in some 27 of the world’s poorest countries. We are in a “church to church” partnership with three churches in Uganda. As well as seeing over 180 children sponsored through our church members we support these churches in prayer and a team visited them in 2011. Compassion not only is a leading charity in child development through sponsorship but also leads projects for mothers with children under 3, and support for gifted leaders through university, among the world’s poor. To find out more about how you can sponsor a child, visit the Compassion website and then contact our church advocate, Carole James, through our church office.
As a church we also partner with five different individuals (and their families) known to us personally who are sharing the gospel in word and action in Japan, Canada, Africa, and the UK. We provide prayer and financial support in return for the encouragement we receive from their gospel work. If you would like more information about any of our mission partners, please contact the Mission Action Group (MAG) through the Church Office .
